Part stuffed animal..part needle felted sculpture...and half drawing...Oscar is #5 in my growing "stuffed" Outsiders series! He is a funky orange kitty made from sparse orange schulte mohair based on one of my many outsider-ish cartoons (& machine & hand sewn from my own pattern!)! He is 5 way lock nut jointed, has needle felted face & paw pads,is stuffed with a poly/pellet mix...and shaded to give him that unique 425sqftart hand drawn look! Oscar is also approx. 9.25 inches tall from the tippy top of his lil' kitty ears to those big ole feet! He will also come with a hand screen printed tag...with his name, numbered, & signed by yers truly! This is an 8x10 digital print from a painting I did on a solid pine piece of pine. This piece is called "United in Freedom" It features the American Flag, painted with some of our nations landmarks, such as the Golden Gate's Bridge, the Statue of Liberty, the "Purple Mountain's Magesty" - the Rocky's, or the Appalachian, depending on which side of the coast you're on! It features segments of lyrics from some of our patriotic nation's songs - such as: My Country Tis of Thee America the Beautiful The Marine's Hymn This Land is Your Land and Also the American's Declaration of Independence There's only 6 stars on this flag, I wanted to do 13 for the initial 13 colonies, but it just wasn't working and I didn't like it, so I did the 6 instead :) So, it's a little homage to Betsy Ross's flag :D A great patriotic piece, for anyone! I think Etsy is a great place to buy excellent art at reasonable prices, and I think open edition art is a great place to start with that. It hold a sterling silver picture charm that has marcasite chips in it so that you may insert a picture for the woman in your life. The heart pendant is removable if you want to do that.
