Our Orphan Necklace Project has temporarily been put on hold due to the turmoil in the location chosen, currently being at war with surrounding countries.

Our plan was to donate necklaces to some of the women and girls in certain parts of the world that are basically unreachable in society. These particular individuals feel as though they are alone in the world. It was our hope that we could give a piece of beauty, a gift to wear, and in turn, a feeling of love, caring, and unity in the knowledge that they are NOT alone. We want them to know that we realize their dilemma, and that we are in kind mind with them, connected in ways that others may not understand, as we are also bound by our surroundings, in our way.

However, we realize that the focus group of our necklaces may not be allowed to own possessions and could face danger (even death) if our necklaces are found in their possession. Included in this peril are friends and family members that aide in their delivery and caregiving, and we certainly do not want to add any misery to an existance of a group of women and girls who face a daily life of abuse and servitude to families other than their own, often with almost no chance to step outside, including no choice or chance to leave.
Their lives may begin and end with nil possessions and many times they percieved by others as being redundent.

It is our hope that things will be changing soon, and that the women we refer to might be allowed to leave their "prisons of domesticity, and servitude" and no longer be the invisible women in their society.
Perhaps then, we can continue with our project, and reach out to those individuals without worry for their safety and freedom.
